clrefThe WoodlandPro competition work axe was designed by the former World Champion lumberjack, David Bolstad. Dave described this axe as "A true multi-purpose axe for the price of a descent working axe. It can be used for both work and practice. There are already some competitors using this axe in New Zealand and they are doing extremely well with it." The axe head is made from high carbon steel, but only hardened to 52 Rockwell C. This keeps the edge from chipping easily like high end professional axes, but still hard enough to hold an edge. These axes are very popular with collegiate teams and recreational choppers. This axe has a 31" hickory handle with a steel roll pin fitted through the center of the head for safety. Important Note: This axe is not designed to replace high end racing axes, and the fit and finish are for general use. Many choppers will need to put a finishing grind on the edge to compete.
